Terms

What a team gets from Second Effort, what it pays, how a season closes, and what happens when a pass runs out. Written for coaches, not lawyers; the lawyer's version follows.

The service

Second Effort is a coach dashboard, a bench app for game day and a Practice Builder for a youth hockey team, run by Second Effort LLC of Buffalo, New York. A team signs up through its admin, who is responsible for the team's staff list and for what the team enters. Players and families do not have accounts.

The season pass

What it costs

PlanA seasonFounding (first 25 teams, held two seasons)
Bench: the bench app, Game Stats, Team Overview, Lines, Report Cards, The Little Things, the schedule$199$125
Team: everything in Bench plus the game-sheet, video and wearable feeds and the season download$499$299
Club: the club pages and one bill for the club; each team under it pays its own plan at 20% off$299 flat, three or more teams$149

Prices in US dollars. The founding price is for the first 25 teams, held for two seasons, paid up front. Until card payments arrive, founding teams are invoiced by hand and may pay by check or transfer. Nothing is charged automatically.

If a pass is not renewed

After July 31 without a renewal, the team's records stay readable until September 30, so an August season report can still be made. Nothing can be added in that time.

After September 30, Second Effort sends the team's admin one export (a spreadsheet and the PDFs) and removes the team's data, as the privacy page promises for players' records. A team that is not continuing may instead keep its past seasons readable on a small "keep it readable" plan (about $29 a season).
